Alaskan Mini Quilts by Lois are a line of patterns for fusible sewing machine appliqué. These patterns depict life in Alaska. Lois Tapp first arrived in Alaska in 1951. She taught school in Belkofski in the Aleutian Islands. Lois made sketches of the life she saw around her. Many of the patterns represented by these quilts reflect those sketches of long ago. Lois taught many Alaskans how to make parkas and was the owner of the Mukluk Shop on 2nd Street in Fairbanks, Alaska from 1964-1979. Lois developed the Alaska Parka Patterns in addition to the Alaskan Mini Quilts Patterns.
